Farewell to a pioneer
Compuserve Classic was shutdown this month.

(silence)

Since I never used the service, I'll leave it to others to wax nostalgic about it. But the fact that it was still around in June 2009 should serve as a reminder just how long a system can survive once it's deployed.

Um, Compuserve Clssic is gone but Compuserve is still there. I remain a SL in the Erotic Lit section of Books and Writers (formerly Litforum) and our discussions continue to be lively. I also still have a Compuserve mail account, but instead of being 71702,3077 I'm now eackerman.

I haven't checked in lately, but as far as I know SF Lit is still active. We try to get together at Worldcon to put faces to names.
